Fleet is part of the DDD Ltd, which was founded by the
DDD Co in Chicago to sell Dr David Dennis’s DDD
Prescription - an antiseptic liquid for skin troubles.
The company initially specialised in producing topical
skin treatments

DDD acquired by Joseph Halsby (grandfather of the
current Chairman) and brought to the UK
|
| 1917 |
The business moves to Fleet Lane, London.
(Hence the name Fleet laboratories).

| 1951 |
Company moves to Watford Rickmansworth road site
and set up dedicated pharmaceutical production site

| 1979 |
The new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility was
officially opened by Jack Halsby.

| 1980 |
Fleet Laboratories were set up as a separate division
to specialise in providing contract-manufacturing
services for the toiletry and pharmaceutical industries.

DDD separated into 2 business units with Dendron
moving to Watford Business Park

Introduction of controlled environmental bays for
manufacturing vessels

New controlled environmental filling rooms

Commenced production of Astral brand

Dedicated toiletry facility opened at Valley Park to
specialise in high volume lines including alcohol and
fragrance filling

Installation of new MRP Impact system

Rickmansworth Road site upgraded as part of an on
going GMP improvement programme. Dedicated
hormone suite and microbiology lab established. New
purified water plant built

Line segregation introduced at Rickmansworth Road
site to conform to MHRA requirements

Self managing team concept set up across all
divisions.

New state of the art QA and Product Development
laboratories built to handle increasing NPD work.
