Social Responsibility

Our long-term approach and the way we treat our staff mean that social responsibility is part of the way we do business, rather than something to think about when we have nothing else to do on a Friday afternoon.

Staff

We believe that our forward-looking culture and our financial success are inextricably linked. We look after our staff and they look after us.

The culture is just one part of it, we also believe in:

The Environment

As a family-owned business, the concept of stewardship comes naturally to us. Our aim of minimising our impact on the environment is totally consistent with that of passing on the company to the next generation. Wherever possible, we use processes and buy equipment that utilize the least energy and create the least waste products. As examples:

  • We have ducted warm waste air from compressors to heat our warehouse
  • We have fitted all offices with low-energy lighting
  • We recycle waste wherever possible
  • Our new compressors use inverters to minimise energy usage
  • We monitor our energy usage across the business
  • We have introduced a cycle to work scheme

The Community

As one of the largest employers in Watford, we are inseparably linked to the local community. We have chosen to support the community through our employees. Our staff are active in many ways, such as school fund-raising, managing local sports teams, voluntary work and we have funds available to support them financially, or with other resources as required.

We also understand the importance of being a good neighbour, and pro-actively seek to minimise noise and other forms of pollution.

Health & Safety

We are committed to achieving the highest standards in health and safety practice. We have a full-time on-site health and safety manager, and we invest in health and safety systems and equipment. However, we believe that our open and supportive culture and engaged employees are the key to making health and safety central to the way we work.

Animal Testing

We do not test our products on animals and are opposed to the practice.

We are fully committed to the safety and performance of the products we handle, and to meeting legal requirements on packaging and labelling.
